HIYP — short for "How Is Your Path" — started with a simple observation. By the time most students sit down to write college applications, the details that matter most are already fading: the club idea that took off, the teacher who changed how they think, the project that failed and what came out of it.
Families with a private advisor have someone tracking all of that from ninth grade. Most families don't. School counselors care deeply, but many carry caseloads in the hundreds. The result is that the students who need structure most often get the least of it.
So we built a personalized College Advisor that works year by year: it tells a student what to focus on now, captures what they're actually doing while it's fresh, and turns four years into application-ready material.
HIYP is built with insight from experienced college counselors, educators, Ivy League alumni, and professionals across the education space — alongside parents who have gone through this process with their own kids.
HIYP does not guarantee admission to any college or university, and we will never suggest otherwise. We don't write essays for students, we don't sell "admissions secrets," and we don't replace your school counseling team. What we offer is guidance, structure, and a real record of four years — the things that make a student's own work easier to see.
